Match-up: Washington (+4.0) @ New York Giants
Breakdown: True, the Giants were better on the road than at home last season. Also true, their championship-caliber defense has been negatively impacted by injury, retirement, and attrition due to free agency. But since the league started the tradition of the Super Bowl champion kicking off the subsequent season on a Thursday night, the title holders are 5-0 straight up and 4-0-1 against the spread. That's a trend I can't ignore.
